THE WILDLIFE INSTITUTE
The Wildlife Institute (WI) provides courses and veterinary internships with regional partners which support wildlife conservation. The Wildlife Institute was founded in 2011 along-side the Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic (BWRC) by Justin Ford MSc. (Ecological Manager) and Dr. Isabelle Paquet-Durand (Wildlife Veterinarian). Its purpose is to offer educational tourism services that support BWRC and other partner wildlife & conservation projects in Belize and the region.
The Wildlife Institute provides support to its wildlife conservation partners in Belize and the region through educational services, tourism, scholarships and a grants program. In 2015 the Wildlife Institute launched its small grants program which provides financial resources on high priority wildlife and conservation projects of need in Belize. The Wildlife Institute offers scholarships to Belizeans and veterinarians from developing countries to participate in its veterinary training programs. Beyond its grants and scholarships programs, the Wildlife Institute assists other wildlife conservation entities in Belize and the region to develop sustainable income streams through education and tourism.
As the Wildlife Institute continues to develop educational and tourism products, it expands its reach and aims. Help us make a difference. Join us for a course, internship or an insider’s tour that contributes to conservation.
